The experience of a total solar eclipse is hard to describe. Standing in the path of the moon’s shadow and watching the sunlight wink out to reveal delicate filaments of the corona is something I will never forget. A collective gasp can be heard from the crowd as the daylight fades to a 360-degree dusk. It is an experience like no other and I can only hope that each person has an opportunity to witness it, at least once.
This is an image I took of totality from August 21, 2017. The image represents a lot to me, personally, but surely anyone can and look at it and see how awesomely beautiful nature can be. Enjoy a near perfect alignment of our celestial neighbors and a camera!
